Meet Dalton – A Brave 8-Year-Old Battling Type 1 Diabetes

Dalton was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) in November 2021 at just 4 years old. He was in diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) with a blood sugar of 512 when he was admitted to a local hospital in Des Moines. It was a scary and life-changing moment, but Dalton has faced every challenge with courage and determination.

Now 8 years old, Dalton continues to amaze his parents by actively managing his condition alongside them, instead of relying on them completely. While he still has his struggles with T1D, he remains active in sports and everyday life—thanks to the support, research, and therapies made possible by people like you.

Dalton, along with his family and friends, will be participating in the Breakthrough T1D Walk on May 5th in Ankeny, IA.
His goal is to raise $500 before the walk—while you all sport a pretty cool design HE DESIGNED himself!
